The year 2019 was rich in encounters, sharing and discovery. For each article written in our Besson mag, we can assure you that the emotions experienced were always intense! These personalities met over the months are always a source of inspiration for our agency!

Here are some inspirational and interesting shots near Verbier, which you can turn into beautiful memories to share with your friends. 2. Justin Marquis: a craftsman and mountain guide who does not leave indifferent

Here is a mountaineer who does not leave us indifferent. A young man brought to life by the wood and the mountain, who combines all his passions to create an unusual product: a wooden ski maker, Justin Marquis.

Justin Marquis is a young mountain guide who often slips his slats on the side of Verbier. But it is by going to walk around the Pays du Saint Bernard that we met for this new article in our Besson mag.

3. Short trip to a dryer of Valais dried meats

Did you know that the history of dried meats and sausage is intimately linked to that of man who needed to preserve meat all year long despite butchering animals only once in the winter? The harsh climatic conditions of our mountains forced our elders to build up sustainable reserves in order to survive during the bad season. Discover the cellar of a small producer.

4. Meeting with Sned, the queen of hearts of VerbierRencontre avec Sned, la dame de coeur de Verbier

Everyone has at some time come across this woman with piercing blue eyes in our mountains of Val de Bagnes. Sned is part of our landscape. For us, Verbier without Sned, it’s like Christmas without snow. And the expression is well founded because among the Croats, Snow White bears the name of Sned. A personality with boundless, infectious energy, she has undoubtedly touched and will continue to touch the hearts of many residents and tourists in Verbier.

5. Sarreyer, the paradise for two distilling artisans

Two Franco-Swiss enthusiasts settled in Sarreyer near Verbier to transmute the plants of the region in a subtle and delicate way – by distillation. It was on a farm, set apart from the beautiful village of Sarreyer, that Matthieu and Florence, equipped with their still, decided to start their small business: “Edelweiss Distillery “.

6. In the forge of Nicolas Vaudan at le Châble

Formerly, in Bagnes, there were the Besse, Oreiller, Melly and Karlen families who were manufacturers of well-known bells. Here is a young man who is reviving the old forge of his grandfather in le Châble: Nicolas Vaudan.

7. Martigny market: feel like your are in Provence

During one of your escapades to the top of the Pierre Avoi above Verbier, you can see Martigny at the foot of the Château de la Bâtiaz. It’s a pretty little town nestled among vineyards and orchards, a place to visit for a stroll, for an aperitif, and especially for a trip to the market on Thursday morning to fill your basket with local produce, and to taste some of the more exotic specialties.

 

8. Summer outings to do with little children around Verbier

Parents, you come to spend your holidays in our region and share pleasant mountain moments with your little ones and you would especially like to go on some outings. Is it possible? It sure is! Here are some ideas for excursions that could make the task easier.

9. Behind the scenes at the Verbier Bikepark with the young shaper Roméo

The young Jurassien from Boncourt, Roméo Wicht, has a nice job, still unknown to the public, which he practises  in an idyllic setting in the middle of our mountains here in Verbier. We could call him the mountain craftsman, “connected” in his own way with nature and the forest, working so that bikers can hit the downhill tracks.

We were able to share a very fine trip with the landscape designer, Laurent Bruchez, revisiting the stories of his childhood as well as those of hostile yet spectacular countries.
