But don’t be mistaken, today it is not a character from a Bagnes family, such as the Besson, Fellay, Bruchez, Vaudan, etc. that Besson Immobilier would like to introduce to you but someone who really feels she is from Bagnes: Sned Jakovljevic!

Everyone has at some time come across this woman with piercing blue eyes in our mountains of Val de Bagnes. Sned is part of our landscape. For us, Verbier without Sned, it’s like Christmas without snow. And the expression is well founded because among the Croats, Snow White bears the name of Sned. A personality with boundless, infectious energy, she has undoubtedly touched and will continue to touch the hearts of many residents and tourists in Verbier.
From Rijeka to Verbier
At the age of 10, she left her native Croatia with her family to travel to Doubs in France, where she later learned to work as a seamstress. On the morning of her 18th birthday, her father gave her a passport. The same day she decided to hitchhike to Switzerland, in search of adventures. After a visit to the Jura, it was in the Val de Bagnes that she unpacked her bags for good, after meeting some people her own age who begged her to come and work in the area! A great team to whom we express our gratitude … for not letting her go any further!
The woman of all trades
Since arriving in the village of Verbier, Sned has constantly reinvented herself. Having worked as a waitress at Caveau, Tara, Marlène, Marmotte… a butcher at Chalet Gourmand, a sales assistant at Tidstrand … she knows all the small businesses in the area and all the businesses in the area know her. And as if a day job was not enough, she continues with small jobs to help her friends at the end of the day (sewing work, cinema cashier, private catering, bar work, etc.). Hyper-active, yet she oozes sweetness and kindness, qualities that you do not meet every day.
Maybe you met her at Rosalp!
On returning from picking mushrooms, one of her favorite hobbies, Sned whipped up a pasta dish for her adopted friends. At the end of the meal, enchanted by her recipe, the Michelin starred chef, Roland Pierroz, told her that she could come and work in his restaurant the next day. She was to work in in the kitchens, then as Maitre D’ until the fireworks marked the final closure of Rosalp.
A touching and endearing personality
This woman with a heart of gold, will win you over with her generosity, frankness, spontaneity, love of people and the region. Sned, lives, breathes and cooks… Bagnes. She is proud of her adopted country and you can feel it! If you come across her, do not you dare to criticise the people of Bagnes or she will quickly send you packing!
Where to find her ?
Sned is a fictional character who does not look like Snow White. But she still has plenty of stories. If you want to meet her, you will find her today at Boutique Fellay Fashion & Sport in winter and at O’Bar serving tapas in the evening. And at the Garden Chez Gailland Fleurs in Châble during the summer. Blessed with an infallible memory, Sned will remember you and you will surely not forget her!
