Saddle up for Verbier!

We are all familiar with the Verbier ski area, renowned for its diverse slopes and breath-taking vistas of the Combins, Trient and Mont-Blanc massifs. Did you know that Verbier is also an excellent destination for cycling enthusiasts?

If you enjoy cycling but don't want to pack and unpack every day, Verbier is the perfect place to settle down and explore. With 800 km of enduro and cross-country trails, as well as an impeccable bike park, Verbier offers a fantastic playground for mountain bikers.

Your mountain biking summer in Verbier

If you enjoy exploring the great outdoors on two wheels, Verbier is the perfect destination for you. With its vast network of trails and roads, you can crisscross the hinterland, climb to high altitudes, explore craggy corners, cross mountain pastures, and skirt mountain lakes, rivers and forests, all on your mountain bike.

In fact, the variety of trails in our region makes it an ideal playground for both mountain bike enthusiasts and beginners who want to try their hand at this thrilling activity. Incredible combinations are available, with the option of taking the ski lifts. The possibilities are endless! Downhill enthusiasts won't be disappointed by Bike Park's fabulous playground.

Road biking: an art of living!

Verbier and the neighbouring regions offer many spectacular winding roads with steep climbs and descents that will appeal to experienced cyclists. Verbier was one of the stages of the 2009 Tour de France. In May 2023, cyclists participating in the Giro d'Italia will pass through Verbier on their way up the legendary Croix de Coeur pass to the Valais resort of Crans-Montana. Find out more information here.

If you want to pedal without exerting too much effort, an e-bike is the perfect choice for you!

The electric bike is ideal for those who want to explore the region without getting too tired. With an e-bike, you can cover longer distances and climb steeper slopes without tiring yourself out too much. An added bonus in the region is the availability of charging points. There are almost 18 points located throughout the region, including mountain huts, dams, mountain pastures, passes and more.

Itineraries

Discover the best biking experiences (mountain biking, e-biking and enduro biking) created by local experts using the Guidos app or on the Verbier Bike Park website. We recommend the Tour du Mont-Fort: The Pro Rider version uses only one ski lift, while the Easy Rider version is suitable for families and takes you up to four ski lifts on the same itinerary.

The Guidos application offers a limited selection of itineraries for road bikes. To expand your options, consider using sites like Wikiloc or Komot and focusing on visiting dams such as Mauvoisin, Emosson, Dixence and Tzeuzier, as well as passes like Col des Planches, Col du Grand Saint Bernard and Col de la Croix de Cœur.

Courses, guides and bike hire

Verbier has excellent facilities for cyclists, with many bike shops offering bike hire. For beginners, there are mountain bike schools offering introductory courses to learn the basic techniques of mountain biking. You can also hire experienced, certified bike guides who know the area like the back of their hand and can tailor a trip to suit your needs.  A guide is always an advantage when it comes to finding the best combination of single trails and getting off the beaten track.

Verbier: pure energy

As well as the bike trails, Verbier is a lively resort with a wide range of restaurants, bars and shops for your leisure time. Verbier has developed an active cycling culture with events such as the E-Bike Festival, the Le Châble - Mauvoisin road race, the Verbier Grimentz mountain bike race and more. There are also music festivals, art exhibitions and many other events celebrating culture, gastronomy and living traditions.
